Friday Faves!

TGIF! Work week is officially over! I thought I’d start Friday evening out (since I’m clearly partying hard over here) with a new installment of Friday Faves!

And the picks are….

1. Cinnamon Cheerios

I am mildly severely obsessed with anything cinnamon flavored… and these are no exception.

You’ve all heard about my obsession with any of the 173 Cheerios varieties, and these come out in 2nd place – just under the original. (Really, there’s no messing with perfection.) But you must go out and get these (bonus: they’re on sale at Safeway at the moment!)

They are unreal in milk, and even better in a Greek Yogurt bowl with chopped up apples. Crunchy, creamy, apple-cinnamony delight!

2. Rizzoli & Isles

This is must-see TV people. (Especially since Olivia Benson is taking a supporting role on SVU next season and Detective Stabler is out all together.) I got hooked on it last season and watched every episode on demand. Perfect if you’re an SVU junkie like myself. Angie Harmon is just so easy to love – aside from being totally relatable and funny (did you see her on Chelsea Lately?) she’s an ex-supermodel who is still just killing it.

Based on characters created by best-selling crime novelist Tess Gerritsen, RIZZOLI & ISLES stars Angie Harmon as Jane Rizzoli, a tough-as-nails Boston police detective, and Sasha Alexander as Maura Isles, a smart, impeccably dressed medical examiner from a privileged background. Despite being complete opposites, the two women share an offbeat chemistry and strong working relationship that has helped them bust some of Boston’s most notorious criminals.  Source

3. OrigAudio

Last week when I posed the first-ever Friday Faves, reader Stephanie commented on a gadget she was loving. It’s from a company called OrigAudio and as soon as I saw her comment, my jaw dropped. I know one of the guys that founded OrigAudio! They’re super affordable and perfect to bring with you to the beach, park, road-trips, anywhere!

OrigAudio’s first product called “Fold n’ Play”, are foldable speakers made from recycled materials and require zero external power, which makes them Mother Nature approved.

4. Beeroaster Chicken Deluxe

This is probably the coolest thing I’ve ever seen. And obviously, we ordered it off Amazon and are fully planning to put it in use this weekend by making a “Sunday Roast”. I’ve written about my love of Beer Butt Chicken. This little roasting tray not only has an “instrument” you sit the chicken on and fill with the beer of your choice it has skewers for potatoes (we’re planning on 2 sweet potatoes and 2 ears of corn) and a place to cook the veggies underneath.

Beyond excited doesn’t even begin to describe it. For a great Food Network Beer Butt Chicken recipe, click here.

5 stars based on 105 reviews! The stats don’t lie folks.

5. Lululemon Wunder Groove Crop

I maybe happened to walk into Lululemon yesterday and happened to walk directly to the sale rack, and they just so happened to be really on sale. And in my size. I also may have happened to give away a pair of old workout crops to Goodwill the day before.

Was this karma? All signs pointed to yes.

So I bought them. And wore them to yoga today. And they were perfect. Didn’t ride up, didn’t fall down, and SO comfortable.

They have a variation of them on-sale on the website, but I have a sneaky feeling you can find them cheaper in store.

That’s all folks! I’m off to finish up this thrilling and thought-provoking episode of the Kardashians (Kris Jenner… where to even start?) and then go pick up boyfriend and prepare a delicious dinner together… and crack open a bottle of wine!

It is Friday after all.

What are your plans this weekend? Anything you’re most looking forward to?

I’m looking forward to relaxing, sleeping in, doing some fun cooking, and a friend’s birthday tomorrow night! (And pulling out all the stops to try and convince boyfriend to see Harry Potter with me… I’m antsy with anticipation. I NEED to see it.)

You Spin My Head Right Round

Hello Hello!

Hope you enjoyed the Guest Post over at Sweet Tooth Sweet Life today! I really enjoyed writing it! If you don’t already regularly read Courtney’s blog… well you really should start. She’s one of my favorite bloggers out there!

Hope your Friday is going well! (And may or may not include the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale! I pre-saled last week and because the boots and sweater I snagged are birthday gifts from my parents, I won’t be seeing them again until November… oh well something to look forward to!)

Do what ya can right?

Today at lunch I utilized a guest pass at the gym so that my dear friend Lexi could join me for a killer Friday spin class taught by none other than the lovely Caroline. (SF-ers if you can, take her classes – she is fabulous, will push you hard, make sure you have a great workout, is beyond motivating and such a great friend!)

And spin, we did.

By the end of the 45 minutes I was huffing, puffing and I felt amazing (once it was over. I thought my body would give out on me during). Therefore, I’m pretty content to just sit in my lovely office for the rest of the afternoon another hour before a much-needed yoga session after work. (And because my legs are so tired I’m not sure they’d support me even if I wanted them to).

I’d tell you how many miles we covered but that nice little portion of my bike’s computer decided to crap out 5 minutes in so I’m not entirely sure.

Lex and I Pre-Nike Women's 1/2 Marathon

Based on past spin classes… it’s about 15 give or take. I’ll give today, because I worked my booty off!

It’s also become apparent it’s time to suck up my pride and throw my vanity aside and wear the dreaded padded booty shorts… my running capris aren’t quite cutting it if you know what I mean! ;-)

After the class, Lexi and I inhaled our “Recovery Smoothies” purchased at the Fuel Cafe faster than it would probably take you to say “Recovery Smoothie”.  I’m actually still a bit hungry so I’m currently plotting what my next snack will be :)

The possibilities are (not) endless since I have a work kitchen to work with, but I think I can make do :) My job keeps cereal, Pop Chips (and you wonder why I have a daily obsession!), Oatmeal, Cliff Bars, etc on hand which is always nice!

I’m off to finish the day – and strangely looking forward to yoga later on… I need some good stretching!

Stay tuned for a Foodie Friday and Friday Faves!

And since it’s Friday….

Celebrities! Working! Out!

Just your everyday super models looking flawless while running. Why does Heidi Klum have the BEST workout style? So urban. So effortless.

NEVER thought you'd see the day, did you?

As I left spin this image popped into my head and I couldn't help but think that looking at it was like looking into a mirror

No hair tie? No problem. We Kardashian's don't sweat.

What’s your favorite post workout snack?? Did you browse, buy or peruse the Anniversary Sale? Are you a spinner? Do wearing the padded shorts actually help? (I wear them for outdoor rides but I just can’t mentally get past walking around the gym in them!)

Almond Butter Makes The World Go Round

TGIF! Who else is beyond ready for the weekend?

(Shameless plug – I have a guest post up over at Sweet Tooth Sweet Life if you’re looking for any workout apparel ideas on a budget!)

I awoke bright and early this morning (think pre-6am) to be at the office for a 7:30 call.

Working East Coast accounts is a blast when you work in San Francisco. ;-)

Rather than wake boyfriend up at the ungodly hour my alarm went off, I opted against making breakfast and just grabbed some essentials and hit the road.

I miraculously was able to make a cup of coffee without running into or dropping anything. Quite the feat.

I decided it was imperative I get a latte and oatmeal this morning so I popped into Starbucks.

I rationalized that since it was 6:51am, freezing, foggy and Friday… that it was totally worth it.

Breakfast included:

  • Tall (1 Pump) Skinny Vanilla Latte

I really need to figure out how to use the DSLR and stop with the iPhone pictures!

I love oatmeal, but on its own, it’s not exactly that filling for me.

Aside from the fact that I am obsessed with it, the Justin’s Nut Buttah adds a bunch of much-needed protein, and quite frankly, just tastes amazing and I would have added 4 more packets if I had them.

The blueberries sweetened the entire breakfast up and added a full serving of fruit… to which I will never complain! (Gotta get ‘em when I can!)

SO tasty, and SO filling!

I’m off to get some work done before I lace velcro up the ‘ol Spinning Shoes for a lunchtime workout with my lovely friend Lexi!

Have a great Friday!

(And don’t forget to check out my guest post over at Sweet Tooth Sweet Life for some workout clothes on a budget ideas!)

What are your workout plans today? Do you usually take Friday as a rest day or power through it with a workout? Are you as obsessed with Justin’s Maple Almond Butter as I am?
